What is Pilates?
A system of exercises occasionally using special apparatus, designed to improve physical strength, flexibility and posture, and enhance mental awareness.
What is Barre?
A ballet-inspired workout incorporating a ballet barre with a mix of Pilates, Yoga, dance and functional training choreographed to motivating music.
What should I bring to class?
We encourage you to arrive 5-10 minutes before your first class to complete your registration, meet the instructor, get set up for class, and review a few basic terms. While both classes are taught barefoot, grip socks are highly recommended and can be purchased at the studio. We suggest you bring a small hand towel and a water bottle while we provide the mat, band, ball and any other equipment you may need for class. Of course, you may bring your own mat if you prefer.
What should I wear to class?
We suggest comfortable clothing wearing pants (leggings or capris) and a breathable top. While both classes are taught barefoot, socks or non slip grip socks are highly recommended. You will see faster results in your flexibility this way by keeping muscles warm.
How long is each class?
Do I have to have experience before coming to my first class?
No, not at all! We encourage all skill levels to attend. Modifications are given to those just beginning their fitness journey and those seeking a deeper challenge.
What are the benefits to Barre and Pilates classes?
Our classes will help you improve your physical strength, flexibility and posture, and enhance mental awareness.
May I bring my children?
No, unfortunately as much as we love our little ones, we must request children not attend. It’s in our best interest to provide a safe environment for everyone without distractions. Playtime Drop In offers discounted rates to those attending a Core Movement class.
